Fourth Lieutenant Kif Kroker is a proud officer of the Democratic Order of Planets. His race holds a position of significance in DOOP; in fact one is DOOP President. Kif serves aboard the Nimbus as first officer to Zapp Brannigan. Zapp is generally abusive towards Kif, forcing him to do a variety of demeaning tasks, such as shaving Zapp's armpits. Kif meekly tolerates this abuse, as he apparently lacks the confidence to defend himself. However sometimes Kif seeks out advice from Zapp and is called Zapp's most loyal officer and best friend.
Kif has fought in wars against the Spheroids of Spheron 1, the Spiderians of Tarantulon 6, the Decapodian's Army in their invasion of Earth and the Omicronians in the defence of Earth.
Kif seems like the ideal candidate for General of the DOOP Army, however, he often gets the blame when Zapp makes a mistake and has the credit taken from him by Zapp when he suceeds. Kif was at one point discharged from the DOOP when Zapp blamed most of his mistake on Kif.
Since they met on the Titanic (1ACV10), Kif has been in love with Amy Wong, of the Mars Wongs, though it was much longer before he got the nerve to speak to her. They have been together since their first date (3ACV01). Amy's parents seem to hate Kif although this doesn't stop Amy loving him. Ironically it was them who set Kif and Amy up when Zapp forced the captainship upon him after the vessel crashed.
Kif has hundreds of children, of whom Leela is the mother and Amy the smizmar. They are currently living in the swamps of Amphibios 9 in an immature, "tadpole" form, and will grow legs and emerge from the water in 20 years. Kif's parents are seen in The Beast with a Billion Backs.

- He loses control of this reflex when he becomes nervous.
